As autumn has approached this year, my daughter and I have taken up our knitting needles and begun to knit with each other a daily basis. This is truly the first time I have been able to knit this entire year.
These perfect moments are happening all around us at all times, every day ... it is up to you and I to notice them and find at least one each and every day to thoroughly appreciate and enjoy.
One of the most beautiful things I have learned along the way is that, to be grateful is to love, and that without love an understanding of gratitude cannot be enveloped within myself.
I remember so crisply the moment when I was sitting out back on the stoop the day after we arrived "home" following our cross-country honeymoon drive and watched as my new husband circled the barn on his tractor and saying in somewhat stupefied* wonder, "I live on a farm. I live on a farm, and my husband drives a tractor."
The temperature was a perfect (for me) 72 degrees. I was sitting in our living room, all the windows were open, a wonderful cool summer breeze wafted through the room.
