The Yin Yang of Spring

Yin Yang. That's what we named Cat Cat's two kittens because there are just the two of them and they cuddle together in a perfect yin yang. Yin is the darker kitten, Yang the one with more white on his/her body. They are still very young but have just this week begun to take tiny wobbling little steps. They recognize me and Yin in particular seems to quite enjoy being up on my shoulder, nuzzled in my long hair. Mostly they spend their time sleeping or nursing and almost always cuddling with each other and their sweet mother, Cat Cat....

When my husband and I married two years ago, he flew to Los Angeles to pick me up. A couple of weekends ago my husband and I drove down south of our place, and down a ways south of Buffalo to a little town called Brocton, near the shore of Lake Erie. A couple of days before our drive there had been a nice snow fall in Western New York, and with below freezing temperatures for a few days afterwards the snow was still on the ground all across the lovely countryside. In fact, there had been no wind to speak of so the snow still clung to the branches of trees which created quite a winter wonderland...

When the big snow hit our area back in March with two feet of snow, my husband had to get out on his tractor with the snow blower attachment on it and work for a few hours clearing our long circular driveway, a path from the barn to the garage, a sweeping drive-up space in front of our mailbox, the front walk way, and both ends of our driveway where the village's snow plows left large piles from their work.
