Just a quick note to let my knitting readers know that I just released a new knitting pattern yesterday, the Teddy Bear Picnic Blanket. I have been on a break from new pattern releases for several months for ... personal reasons. This Teddy Bear Picnic Blanket is an easy cable knit with a pretty edging consisting of contrasting color "puffs" (similar to bobbles) and a ruffled picot trim. Knit in worsted weight yarn on size U.S. 10 needles, it is also a quick knit. I also give conversion information in the pattern to turn it into a baby or child...

The visual effect is stunning, and we are blessed to have one such tree just across the road north of our place on our neighbor's property. I see it each morning outside the living room window as I knit with my morning coffee and Blu in my lap....

One of my favorites was the "My Favorite Things" song, which we performed during the Christmas show when I was in sixth grade, before my family moved from North Carolina to Los Angeles. Today that song, those lyrics, are on my mind ... Last Friday my husband and I drove down to Bath, New York for the annual pig roast at his nephew's place. His nephew bought a 100...
